Marcia Gay Harden
Marcia Gay Harden is the third child of five sisters born to La Jolla on 14 August 1959. Her mother, Beverly (Bushfield), was a domestic worker, and her dad, Thad Harold Harden a soldier. Family members moved frequently- she first became interested with theatre when the family moved to Greece as she had been to plays in Athens. Harden began her college education in American colleges in Europe before returning to the US to pursue her study in the University of Texas in 1983 after which she earned an MFA from NYU, and, thereafter started her acting career. Miller's Crossing was the Coen Brothers humorous homage to the 1990 film about gangsters, Miller's Crossing. Although Harden had appeared in movies from 1986 (in The Imagemaker, a lesser-known film The Imagemaker), she appeared as a seductive female lead in her first major role. Harden's stunning portrayal of Verna the mysterious and seductive moll, received positive critiques. Harden was later cast in supporting parts. She played Ava Gardner, a TV biopic of Frank Sinatra.
