LizzoLizzo joined a rock group called prog where she sang and played the flute. Her family moved to Denver and she was on her own in the process of making Houston her home. Lizzo was a car owner and sometimes slept on the floor of her recording studio , and then showering in the gym. Lizzo lost her father when she was twenty years old. The two had been close and it was a devastating loss. Lizzo quit the prog-rock group in 2010, after her father's passing. After a brief visit to Denver, Lizzo moved to Minneapolis in the year 2011 upon the request by a close friend. Then she became part of Minneapolis' music scene. She was a part of the girl group Chalice, GRRRL PRTY. The album she released was Lizzobangers, her debut. out through an independent label in the year 2013.
