Alanis Morissette

Alanis Nadine Morissette was born in Ottawa, Canada, on the 1st June, 1974. Alanis' Greek is a female form of Alan's father's surname. Her siblings are Chad (Alanis Twin) as well as Wade. She started playing the piano and guitar when she was just 21. Alanis released a single in 1986 called Fate stay with me (b-side : Find The Right Man). Then, in Canada, Alanis recorded two dance-pop records: Alanis (in 1991) and the album Now Is The Time in 1992. The singer moved to Toronto when she turned 18 and started working with writers and musicians, however the collaborations didn't work. In 1994, she discovered the perfect partner in producer and songwriter Glen Ballard, who had already worked with many artists, including Aretha Franklin Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand. When she moved to LA She turned 19. The 13th of June, 1995 "Jagged Little Pill" was made available by Madonna's Maverick Records. Alanis was able to come up with the idea of making songs that are completely personal to her and based on her own life experiences. JLP is the third most popular album ever and was sold over more than 30 million times around world. JLP was released after enduring emotions (she thought about not recording an album), and taking the trip to Europe. Alanis Alanis Alanis
